Accessibility

Accessibility is tested on every change, not promised once.

Leitvia targets WCAG 2.2 level AA and the web requirements of the German BITV 2.0, which follow EN 301 549. This page explains how we test, what the results are and where the limits lie. It also holds the accessibility statement for leitvia.com.

How we test

Rules in the tokens

Every color pair of the design contract reaches 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for controls in every style variation. Studio refuses to save a token set that misses these values.

Automated checks

axe-core with the WCAG 2.2 AA rules runs on every template and pattern, in every style variation, at three screen widths. A BITV suite adds keyboard runs, focus contrast, reflow at 320 pixels, text spacing and forms.

Review by people

Some test steps need a person, for example alternative texts and screen reader output. We document these reviews in the test report. An external test by an accredited body is planned before the free release.

BITV 2.0 test report, summary

The report covers the theme Leitvia 0.1.0: templates, template parts, patterns, block styles and style variations. It is a self-assessment based on the 60 web test steps of the BITV test, plus the new criteria of WCAG 2.2 AA. It was last run on 16 October 2026 with 757 tests in the full matrix, all passed.

Partially met

  • 9.2.4.5 Multiple ways: the header patterns have no search field. Site owners need a second way to find pages, such as a full footer navigation. This site uses one.
  • 9.4.1.2 Name, role, value: in the mobile menu of the core navigation block, submenu buttons always report “expanded”. The desktop menu is not affected. A fix is planned with the mega menu block of Leitvia Studio.

Still open

Screen reader tests with NVDA and VoiceOver, a test of text-only zoom in Firefox and a check in real Windows contrast mode have not been done yet. They are part of the external test before the free release.

Accessibility statement for leitvia.com

CMS ADMINS wants this website to be usable by everyone. This statement applies to leitvia.com and was prepared on 17 October 2026.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0, which refer to the harmonised standard EN 301 549 and to WCAG 2.1 level AA. We also test against WCAG 2.2 level AA.

Content that is not accessible

  • Screen reader tests by people are still open, so problems that only show up in a screen reader may exist.

How this statement was prepared

The assessment is a self-assessment. Every page of this site is checked with axe-core (WCAG 2.2 AA), a keyboard and focus run, a structure check and a check for requests to other hosts, using the test suite that ships with the Leitvia project.
