Leitvia is a WordPress block theme and a companion plugin, Leitvia Studio. Both are free and GPL licensed. The first version is 0.1.0; it will be published on WordPress.org. They come from CMS ADMINS, a WordPress agency in Munich that builds and maintains sites for clients.

Why we built it

We maintain many sites. The same problems come back on each of them: a new brand color breaks the contrast of buttons, a redesign leaves a menu that no longer works with the keyboard, a font is loaded from a server in another country without consent. Fixing these by hand on every site does not scale, and it does not scale when an AI agent does the work either.

Leitvia writes the rules down once. Patterns use roles such as surface, ink and accent instead of fixed values. The contract that lists these roles is readable by people and by machines, and every change runs through the same tests.

What is in version 0.1.0

  • The theme: ten templates, 39 patterns, six style variations and five presets, all fonts and images bundled. No JavaScript on the front end and no requests to other hosts.
  • Studio: a Pattern Lab with previews in every variation and an accessibility check per pattern, token sets with a contrast lock, a content model registered through core APIs, and local profile pictures instead of Gravatar.
  • A test suite with axe-core and the 60 test steps of BITV 2.0, run on every template and pattern. The summary is on the accessibility page.

This site is built with Leitvia itself: the theme, Studio and pages composed from its patterns. It sets no cookies and loads nothing from other hosts.

What comes next

Studio grows in steps. Next are blocks that most client sites need, such as tabs, a timeline, a mega menu and consent placeholders for maps and videos. After that comes an agent module with clear safety limits, and agent skills that set up, design and maintain a site by these rules. Pro add-ons for agencies follow later; the pricing page shows what will stay free.
